Rebecca Myers

Facilitator

If I make the big assumption that I am half-way through my life at the moment, I think I have packed in quite a bit and although it’s been hard work, it’s been one hell of a journey!

The facts:

As well as being a workshop and learning facilitator, I am Director of Live Happy (Health & Wellbeing company, specialising in creating and running Corporate health spaces) and own Horizon Gym in Berkshire. I am a qualified Personal Trainer, Nutrition Consultant, Mental Health First Aider, Counsellor and Business Management graduate. I am a published author (‘Live Happy - Your Guide to becoming a Happier Human’) plus have created and launched the holistic ‘Live Happy App’ (Google Play and App Store). I have also owned and sold a Recruitment Consultancy and been a Client Director for multiple creative Advertising agencies, helping some of the biggest brands in the world.

The detail:

I am one of those annoying people that genuinely can say that I love my job! I get the chance to help people in a truly holistic way every day and help them to understand themselves more, feel happier & healthier and make a difference in their lives. I am a serial entrepreneur, never stop thinking and moving, and try to pack as much as I can into each day. Never rest on my laurels, never stop trying to improve, but never pushing so hard that I get ill.

It has taken a bit of journey to get to this point though. Starting life in the corporate world in Advertising in London, then emigrating to Brisbane Australia gave me a different perspective on life. Coming back after having both children and starting again in the UK offered me resilience and the opportunity to re-invent myself using a new set of skills. A distinct moment that was to change my life from working long, stressful hours in an office to starting my journey into the Health & Wellbeing space, was a summer party with friends where I met a Personal Trainer. This lady went on to be my PT and gave me the support and strength to become qualified myself and start my own company in this arena.

But what am I doing in the small amount of time I have when I am not working? I’m a proud Mum of two very active little boys (well, one is nearly the same height as me now!!). Almost every weekend you will find me at the side of a racetrack somewhere in the world, with either child – one is an International Junior Karting champion and the other is a National junior Remote Control Car racer! Even our little dog Teddy joins us to be team mascot! I’m also wife to my long-suffering husband, Sam - the most supportive person I know! On the very rare occasion I’m not ferrying the children around, you will find me trying to get my own workout completed in the gym, walking Teddy the dog, testing out new recipes in the kitchen, or pouring over interior design magazines to gather ideas for our house that constantly needs attention as well!
